We have been laying down reclaimed flooring for over 15 years.
Antique reclaimed hardwood flooring is full of personality and rich in history. Every single piece of wood is unique and cannot be duplicated.
Reclaimed wood mostly comes from old barns and buildings that have been disassembled. This wood is full of rustic character and charm with saw marks, knots, nail holes, wormholes, and natural patina giving variation from board to board. Most of the reclaimed wood we use comes from Ontario, but some varieties are imported from the US.
Barn board is another great eco-friendly option. These pieces of lumber are re-milled from older unused buildings. With this method, we reuse existing resources instead of using new materials and prevent unnecessary lumber from being cut down.
Since reclaimed flooring is so full of personality, it can be a challenge to install. It’s tricky since the raw unfinished wood looks rough, and to an inexperienced installer, it can be difficult to tell what is character and what is unusable.
We are partnered with a mill that sends us high-quality products. Even still, we carefully grade it with an experienced eye, knowing exactly what to look for.
